Her Majesty Queen Máxima will make a working visit on Wednesday, March 11, to the Anne-Bo Foundation at LAB111 in Amsterdam. The foundation focuses on girls for whom studying is not self-evident, because they, for example, grow up in poverty, have a refugee background, or come from youth care. Through a personal coach, scholarships, housing, study materials, network, and workshops, they are supported during their studies.

Queen Máxima will speak with several students and their coaches about the guidance and what the support means to them. She will also speak with residents of Anne-Bo houses about their personal situation and housing facilities. Queen Máxima will then join the workshop financially healthy living, an example of one of the activities of the Anne-Bo Academy. The working visit will conclude with a roundtable discussion with representatives of involved parties and partner organizations. Attention will be paid to the foundations working method and future plans.

The Anne-Bo Foundation supports and guides the students both financially and with a network throughout their entire HBO or WO studies. The goal is to obtain a diploma and make a good start on the labor market. The foundation was established five years ago in honor of the late student Anne-Bo.
