We have granted 2 subsidy applications from the Regional Deal Veluwe in Balance. This money will be used to redesign the station area in Eerbeek and create a tourist transfer point between the IJssel Valley and Veluwe. The visitor center in Nunspeet will also be developed.

Regional Deal Veluwe in Balance

A Regional Deal is a collaboration between the national government and parties in a region: municipality, province, knowledge institutions, and businesses. Regional Deals improve the quality of life, living, and working for residents and entrepreneurs. In October 2024, we, together with the national government, the Veluwe Alliance, and the Vital Holiday Parks program, signed the Regional Deal Veluwe in Balance. The national government is making €20 million available, and the regional parties are contributing at least the same amount. Over the coming years, at least €40 million will be invested in the Veluwe. The first 2 applications from this subsidy scheme have now been granted.

Reception Location Eerbeek

The municipality of Brummen receives nearly €1.4 million in subsidies for the Reception Location Eerbeek project. This project consists of 3 parts. The redesign of the railway zone in the center of Eerbeek into an attractive tourist access point. The industrial character of Eerbeek receives special attention. In addition, good connections will be established between the station area and Veluwe, IJssel Valley, and the main shopping area of Eerbeek. Finally, the PAK House will also be established with a Paper and Cardboard Museum and the branches of the Eerbeek Library and the Brummen Welfare Foundation.

Eerbeek will thus become one of the access points to the Veluwe. The project not only promotes tourism and culture but also enhances the identity of Eerbeek, where the paper industry has historically been located.

Visitor Center Nunspeet

The Visitor Center Nunspeet project receives €825,000. The current transferium (a parking lot where you can transfer to public transport) will be developed into a modern visitor center. From the Gate of the Veluwe, visitors will be warmly welcomed and invited to explore the Veluwe and Randmeer Coast. The center will also serve as a central information point for various routes for cyclists, hikers, and riders. Fun routes will also be created that connect the Veluwe and Nunspeet with the Zuiderzeeroute and Veluwemeer.

For Tourists and Residents

The Regional Deal Veluwe in Balance is a huge encouragement for tourism and the residents of the Veluwe. The projects in Eerbeek and Nunspeet beautifully illustrate this: they contribute to the local economy and the distribution of visitors and livability. I would like to sincerely congratulate the municipalities of Brummen, Nunspeet, and all collaborating parties on this.
