Work

The Nettelhorster Bridge was transported over the Twentekanaal with large pontoons in recent days, which is also known as the installation of the bridge. The bridge is now resting on the support points on land. For this installation operation, construction company BAM hired special equipment and professionals.

Planning and Follow-up 

Due to bad weather conditions, the installation could not take place in June and a new date had to be sought. This weekend, the work could finally take place. In the coming period, the remaining work on project N346- Schakel Achterhoek A1 will be completed. After that, the road will open to traffic. 

Project N346- Schakel Achterhoek A1 

The Nettelhorster Bridge is part of project N346 - Schakel Achterhoek A1.  

The new provincial road is an important link between the Achterhoek, the A1, and the Stedendriehoek (Deventer-Zutphen-Apeldoorn). We are building this to improve the safety and flow of through traffic. The landscape integration enhances the green appearance of the area with characteristic tree lanes and estates.
