The jury, consisting of representatives from the food network, judged that the two winners have truly made a difference with their commitment and involvement. They expressed their appreciation for their special contribution to the regional food chain and society in Groningen.
Sales & Visibility
Remko Fuchs, hospitality manager at Euroborg, received the award in the category Sales & Visibility. He is praised for his commitment to using sustainable and regional products in a commercial environment.
Agriculture & Fisheries
Entrepreneur Thea Buseman receives the Value Ring in the category Agriculture & Fisheries. The jury commends the entrepreneur from Grain Trading Buseman in Scheemda for her drive to transition from bulk to smaller, traceable, and regional in the conservative grain trade. She contributes to increasing transparency and visibility in the food chain.
Buseman received the Value Ring on Friday, October 10. The award presentation to Fuchs will follow at a later time.
Week of Our Food
The presentation of the Value Ring is part of the Week of Our Food, an annual campaign in the second week of October. The campaign aims to increase appreciation and awareness of the origin and value of our food. From October 4 to 11, farm tours, cooking workshops, and markets were organized. The Week of Our Food is an initiative of the Dutch Agri Food Week Foundation.
