Agrotourism connects
The Grüne Woche is the international platform for agriculture and agrifood. By linking agriculture, landscape, and tourism, new opportunities arise for rural areas and awareness about the origin of our food grows.
Regional products as a calling card
Each province showcases an innovative regional product that demonstrates the strength of the region: from taste and culture to tourism potential. This highlights how agrotourism contributes to a vital countryside, additional income for farmers, and a stronger connection between farmer, visitor, and resident. The Groningen regional product was Marne Mustard. Marne promotes the cultivation of Groningen mustard seed. It is a valuable crop for farmers due to good crop rotation and contributes to lower CO₂ emissions because the raw material is grown locally. This aligns with the demand for locally produced products.
Collaboration as key
At the joint Dutch pavilion, all provinces present their regional product. The pavilion serves as a meeting place for administrators, entrepreneurs, and partners, with Farming the Future as the connecting theme.
During the stage program, Minister Wiersma, the deputies, and NBTC emphasized their joint commitment to further strengthening agrotourism after the fair.
