Future-Proof Energy Supply
The 110,000-volt electricity connection between Vierverlaten and Brillerij is important for the power grid in the Winsum and Grijpskerk region. The old overhead high-voltage line was removed in 2023.
Since then, electricity has temporarily been routed via the new 380,000-volt high-voltage connection between the Eemshaven and Vierverlaten. This connection will be fully needed in the future for transporting 380,000-volt electricity. Therefore, there is no longer space for the 110,000-volt connection.
For this reason, a new underground 110,000-volt electricity connection will be installed between Vierverlaten and Brillerij. This solution keeps the regional power grid reliable and ready for the future.
Intent and Proposal for Participation
The intent and proposal for participation outline where the new underground electricity connection may be located. It also explains the project steps and how residents and other stakeholders will be involved.
