Investigation into Decision-Making and Information Provision (Including Pieterzijl-Oost), an Update.

This investigation also maps out opportunities for improving the processes. The investigation has now started. 

On November 11, by order of the Provincial Executive, a 5th case was added to the investigation: the proceedings regarding the permit procedure for dredging in the Reitdiep and dumping sludge in pits in the Lauwersmeer. The other four cases concern the proceedings regarding: 

• Gas extraction near Warffum.
• The supplementary appeal against gas extraction at Pieterzijl-Oost.
• The appeal regarding the approval decision for Grijpskerk-Zuid.
• Information provision about the Nedmag building monitoring.

Due to the 5th case, the duration of the investigation has also been extended by 1 month. The investigation now runs from November 2025 through January 2026.
