When you call via Teletolk, an interpreter translates the conversation. The interpreters can translate Dutch Sign Language or written text into speech and vice versa.
How does it work?
On the contact page of the Province of Groningen, you can click the Teletolk button. This takes you to a call portal where you can choose to communicate in Dutch Sign Language or text. Once you have made your choice, you will be automatically connected to the province. There are no extra costs for you.
Confidential
If it is necessary to share personal or confidential information during the phone call, that is possible. The interpreter translates the conversation but does not add anything to the content. Moreover, the interpreters are bound by confidentiality. This means they are not allowed to share anything about the conversations.
