For SMEs, such as food producers, distributors, and hospitality organizations, two subsidy schemes have been established. ‘Innovation Harvest of Groningen’ offers entrepreneurs the opportunity to explore innovative ideas and carry out small-scale pilot projects. The goal is to start new products and collaborations. With the scheme ‘Validation Harvest of Groningen’, SME collaborations can test and verify their innovations through market research and pilot projects. The subsidy helps to further develop products and methods so they can enter the market.

Harvest Foundation of Groningen

The Harvest Foundation of Groningen is an independent organization with a facilitating and stimulating role. Food experts ensure good projects are submitted, assist in starting up and supporting collaborations, and ensure parties in the chain can share knowledge. The foundation receives subsidies from the National Program Groningen. For more information about the foundation, visit www.oogstvangroningen.nl.

Toukomst Project

Harvest of Groningen is one of the Toukomst projects of the National Program Groningen. In 2020, residents of Groningen were called upon by Toukomst to come up with big, innovative, creative, and smart ideas. No fewer than 900 ideas were submitted. These were bundled into large projects that contribute to the future of their province. Harvest of Groningen is one of these projects.
