History
The company started in 1924 as an agricultural blacksmith on the Rijksweg Zuid in Sittard under the leadership of founder Jacob Vahsen. In the early years, the work mainly consisted of shoeing horses, sharpening agricultural tools, and repairing mowing machines. Despite difficult periods, such as economic recessions and staff shortages, Vahsen Constructies remained steadfast, thanks in part to the dedication and close involvement of the family and its employees.
Over the years, the company grew into a versatile enterprise, specializing in construction work, ornamental forging, and the manufacture of high-quality stairs and railings. The company is now located on Industriestraat, where it is under the daily management of Louis Vahsen and Roger Vroomen. Their collaboration is based on a decades-long friendship and shared passion for the trade.
Social Value
Vahsen Constructies has not only contributed to the regional economy but is also closely socially connected with Sittard and its surroundings. The company invests in the development of young talent and craftsmanship and is known for its involvement in local projects.
The awarding of the title Royal Supplier by Governor Roemer marks a special milestone in the history of Vahsen Constructies. It is a recognition of the efforts of many generations: from the founders Jacob, Willy, and Louis (sr.), to Rikie Vahsen as the pillar of the company, and then the current management with Louis (jr.) and Roger Vroomen.
