Huub Narinx has led the LWV as director for over eight years. He has become a figurehead of Limburgs business community. During those years, he has firmly established the LWV as a spokesperson and advocate for Limburg employers, from small and medium-sized enterprises to larger companies. He maintained close contacts with the Province of Limburg, municipalities, and national organizations like VNO-NCW. Thanks to his efforts, the voice of Limburgs business community was better heard at regional and national levels.
Initiator and Figurehead
He was involved in multiple initiatives and lobbying efforts to strengthen the Limburg economy, such as promoting cross-border cooperation, actively thinking about strengthening the labor market and the connection between education and business, and supporting innovation and transition in sectors such as logistics, industry, and agri-food.
Under his leadership, the LWV built strong regional networks and partnerships, including collaboration with educational and knowledge institutions and connecting companies through events, platforms, and projects to stimulate knowledge sharing and innovation.
Roemer: “Huub Narinx brought issues like sustainability, energy transition, and digitalization to the attention of Limburg businesses. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he acted as a visible figurehead and advocate, among other things by ensuring good information provision and support for companies and lobbying for appropriate measures and regulations from governments. He also played an important role in the compensation scheme following the flood disaster.”
