Here the results of this project were once again presented. And they do not lie. Children at a Healthy Primary School of the Future are healthier and fitter. Learning performance improves, as does the atmosphere at school. There is less bullying.
Equal Opportunities
Deputy Marc van Caldenberg is proud of the project. “We, as the Province of Limburg, believe in a promising start for every child. We strive for a society in which every child feels healthy, safe, and seen. This requires broad commitment: not only in the area of nutrition but also in movement, welfare, and equal opportunities. We believe in a movement where together we break through inequality of opportunity and open doors to development and perspective.”
Limburg as an Example
Van Caldenberg hopes the Limburg initiative will be followed nationwide. “Currently, there are 37 Healthy Primary Schools of the Future in Limburg. The ambition is higher. Limburg points the Netherlands in the right direction: we want a thousand Healthy Primary Schools throughout the Netherlands by 2030.”
