Growth Plan North and Central Limburg

In recent years, it has become clear that the cultural offerings in North and Central Limburg lag behind in size and diversity compared to the cultural offerings in South Limburg. To strengthen the cultural infrastructure in North and Central Limburg, the Growth Plan North and Central Limburg has been established. The Growth Plan is composed of 5 program lines. The new subsidy scheme addresses four of the five program lines.

Subsidy Scheme

Within the subsidy scheme for the Growth Plan North and Central Limburg, applications can be made for four components. Applicants can apply for subsidies for purchasing training, workshops, and courses, among other things. This focuses on healthy business operations. The maximum subsidy amount for this is € 10,000.

Applicants can also apply for subsidies for residency programs or labs with a maximum subsidy amount of € 20,000. Creating more residency spots and experimental space in North and Central Limburg should make the region more attractive for (young) creators who want to work in the region.

Additionally, an application can be submitted for a regional cultural festival or event with at least 7,500 visitors. The maximum subsidy amount for this is € 120,000. By stimulating large productions in the region, a larger audience from the region can become acquainted with culture, and regional creators get the chance to gain experience in large productions.

Finally, an application can be submitted for a cultural festival or project with a reach of at least 500 visitors. The maximum subsidy amount for this is € 20,000. This encourages institutions, creators, associations, and collectives to organize activities in the region.

Subsidy applications can be made via the page Subsidy Growth Plan North and Central Limburg (refers to another website) (opens external website).

Deputy Jasper Kuntzelaers (Culture and Heritage) emphasizes the importance of the new subsidy scheme: “With this subsidy scheme, we are specifically investing in the cultural strength of North and Central Limburg. We create space for creators, stimulate talent development, and offer the public a more diverse offering. This ensures that culture is accessible to everyone within the region, strengthens the local infrastructure, and gives new initiatives the chance to grow.
