Learning Playfully
Due to frost in the ground, the planned tree planting activity on this day could not take place. Instead, the children participated in the specially designed Living Tree Board Game in the sports hall in Vaals. Through this educational game, the students learned in a fun way how important trees are for animals, humans, the climate, and healthy soil. They were playfully involved in the future of their own living environment.
Engaging Youth in Nature
The creation and guidance of the game and additional activities were made possible in part by the efforts of students from Yuverta. This collaboration aligns with the provincial goal to stimulate education about nature and climate and actively involve young people in a greener and healthier Limburg.
Variety of Tree Species in Lemiers
In Lemiers, a diverse natural area will soon be developed with native tree species such as sweet cherry, winter lime, flutter alder, hornbeam, rowan, sweet chestnut, and various shrubs. The trees and shrubs provide more shelter and food for animals and contribute to greater biodiversity and a climate-resilient Limburg.
