In the fourth quarter of 2025, more than 55 inspiring culture and nature projects in the province receive €283,837 from the Culture Fund North Brabant.

From film and performance to art with active involvement of participants and education: the projects show how Brabant talent continues to innovate, deepen and connect. From this fourth round, we highlight 3 exceptional projects:

Stations of the Elevated

For the renewed presentation of Stations of the Elevated, Blind Walls Film Fest receives €7,500. The cult film from 1981, a visual ode to the graffiti scene of New York, will be accompanied live during the festival at the Chassé Theater (January 2027) by an ensemble of 5 young musicians. They bring the original soundtrack, with jazz by Charles Mingus and gospel by Aretha Franklin, back to life in an energetic call-and-response style. The performance is followed by a public discussion about urban identity, artistic freedom, and the power of counterforce. After the premiere, a tour will follow through cinemas and festivals in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany.

ClownEmotion

Center for Circus Art receives €10,000 for ClownEmotion, a new platform where professional clowns, amateurs, and students work together on deepening and renewing clown art. The initiative builds on the international tradition developed by the Nouveau Clown Institute of Jango Edwards.

In 2026, two major masterclasses will be organized in Oosterhout: a winter edition focused on artistic deepening and a 9-day summer edition where techniques such as mime, timing, music, and Commedia dell’Arte are central. The series concludes with a presentation in a circus tent, accessible to the public. The international composition of participants ensures cultural exchange and cross-pollination in Brabant performing arts.

De Samenloop

Artist Niels Ballemans receives €9,957 for De Samenloop, the winning design of the art commission You Are Not Alone at Huize Padua in Boekel. The work is a 40-meter-long, winding water installation in the beech forest, designed as a place for rest, play, creativity, and meeting. The installation grows thanks to the active involvement of residents, clients, staff, and neighbors. Through workshops, from making play elements to sharing stories, the artwork gains new layers of meaning. De Samenloop thus becomes a living place of connection between care, nature, and community.
