The first Political Active course for the province starts on Monday, January 12, 2026. This edition is fully booked. Therefore, we are organizing a second series starting Monday, May 11, 2026, at the provincial government building in ’s-Hertogenbosch. Participation is free of charge.
Who is the course intended for?
Do you want to know how the province works and how you can influence decisions? Or are you considering becoming politically active but don’t know exactly how yet? Then this course is for you. If you are already politically active or have already taken the course at your municipality, you are not part of the target group.
Why participate?
Where should new houses be built and where is space left for nature? How often should the bus run in rural areas? Where do we place wind turbines? These are questions the province decides on. During the course, you will discover how decisions are made and how you can exert influence. Maybe you will get so enthusiastic that you want to become active yourself, for example as a member of the Provincial Council.
What is the course about?
You will get answers to questions such as:
- What does the province do?
- What role does the province have in the governance of the Netherlands?
- How does decision-making work?
- What does a member of the Provincial Council do?
In addition, you will practice debating and meet politicians and administrators from North Brabant. They will tell you how it works in practice.
Program
The course takes place on 5 Monday evenings from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM. The location is the provincial government building in s-Hertogenbosch.
