The employers committee of the Provincial States of North Brabant nominates Geert van Soest as interim clerk for the period from October 1, 2025, to January 31, 2026.
Temporary Filling After Departure of Current Clerk
Kirsten ten Cate, the current clerk of the Provincial States, will leave on October 1, 2025, to take up the role of Program Manager Quality Public Administration at the province of North Brabant. The Provincial States will soon start the recruitment of a new permanent clerk. Since this process takes several months, a temporary filling is necessary.
Extensive Experience and Proven Quality
The employers committee proposes Geert van Soest as interim clerk. He has over twenty years of experience as an (interim) clerk, including in the municipalities of Venlo, Velsen, and Breda. Additionally, he was a co-founder of the Association of Clerks and active within the Association of Dutch Municipalities.

Appointment on September 19
The appointment of Geert van Soest by the Provincial States is scheduled during the States meeting on Friday, September 19, 2025.
