Best Wool Carpets from Best received the encouragement award the Golden Circle from the Province of North Brabant. The company designs, produces, and supplies high-quality wool carpets and rugs worldwide. They do this in a way that is good for both people and the environment.

The Province of North Brabant aims to use 50 percent fewer new raw materials by 2030. The Golden Circle is intended for companies and organizations that are frontrunners in this. They show that circular entrepreneurship is not only possible but also profitable.

Natural materials, sustainable choices

At Best Wool Carpets, everything revolves around wool, craftsmanship, and smart technology. The carpets and rugs are durable, last for many years, are recyclable, and biodegradable. Thanks to a unique product passport with a QR code, it is precisely visible for each rug where the materials come from and how it can be reused or recycled after use. This makes the entire life cycle of each product transparent and shows that circularity is not a promise but daily practice.

‘Be a good materialist’

Owner Yvar Monasch says: “For us, circularity is a way of life and thinking. We always say: be a good materialist. By that, we mean: think carefully about the properties of the materials you use. We work with beautiful, pure wool from New Zealand and Europe and pure polyester. We connect them, and after use, we can easily separate and reuse them.”

A well-deserved winner

According to Martijn van Gruijthuijsen, deputy for Economy, Talent Development, and Finance, the prize is more than deserved: “Best Wool Carpets is the rightful winner of the Golden Circle because they manage to realize a sustainable production process with 100% reusable resources from grass, wool, in a very intrinsically good way.”

Monasch is proud and happy with the recognition: “There are many companies in this region that could also win this prize. My message to them: get started, do it!”

About the Golden Circle

The Golden Circle is an initiative of the Province of North Brabant and is awarded every six months to a company or organization that distinguishes itself in circular entrepreneurship.

Best Wool Carpets is the twelfth winner. The award itself is a symbol of circularity: it is made from 5 different circular materials.
