The Province of North Brabant is focused on accelerating the energy transition. The province aims to reduce energy consumption and encourage the shift from fossil to renewable energy sources. The province is not doing this alone: energy professionals from municipalities and other organizations across Brabant are working on the energy transition. For them, the province organizes a webinar every month on current energy themes: the Energy Brabant sessions.
Each month, a different current energy theme is central to the Energy Brabant sessions. The goal of the sessions is to share knowledge, inspire, and learn from each other.
Deputy Bas Maes: “The energy transition requires collaboration. Municipalities, businesses, we as a province, and other partners all have our own roles. With the webinars, we bring everyone together and exchange a lot of knowledge. At the same time, we show what is happening in Brabant: innovative projects, the role of the province, and where municipal professionals can go for advice.”
Short summer break, now continuing
Before the summer, the province organized inspiring sessions on topics such as participation and grid congestion. In July and August there was a short break, but from September the sessions will take place every month again. New current themes will be central, such as the sustainability of social real estate, sustainability of industry, and the development of energy hubs.
