Petition and Swearing-in of New Clerk Anneloes Wepster

Before the meeting, the Chalet Owners Association De Lork submitted a petition to draw attention to developments at their chalet park. The meeting began with the swearing-in of Anneloes Wepster as the new clerk of the Provincial Council. Miriam Nienhuis van Doremaele was also sworn in as a member and chair of the board of the Southern Audit Chamber.

Oral Questions about Ammonia Emissions and Heidebos Solar Park

Tanja van de Ven (CDA) asked about the approach to reducing ammonia emissions at livestock farms. Patricia van der Kammen (PVV) raised questions about the situation around Heidebos Solar Park in the municipality of Sint-Michielsgestel.

Amendment of Water Board Regulations

Afterwards, the Provincial Council discussed a proposal to update the rules for the Brabant water boards. The adjustments are necessary due to new national legislation. They ensure that the regulations align again with the Water Boards Act and that the number of fixed seats in the boards is reduced. The residency requirement for the chair of a water board is also removed.

Limited Discussion Items and 2nd Deputy Chair of the Provincial Council

Furthermore, 3 short discussion points were on the agenda. Council members discussed the 2025 legality framework, which sets the rules for the province. They also talked about the audit protocol for the 2025 annual accounts, with agreements on financial control. Finally, the Provincial Council elected Marco Havermans (BBB) as the new 2nd deputy chair.
