The inspectors of Monumentenwacht North Brabant will receive new electric work vans. With support from the Province of North Brabant, the monument guards can continue working in emission-free zones.

Inspecting heritage, also in emission-free zones

Monument guards inspect churches, mills, and other historic buildings daily. Some locations are in historic and increasingly emission-free city centers.
Deputy Bas Maes (Heritage): “Especially in historic inner cities, where much of our heritage stands, inspectors must be able to reach monuments well. These electric work vans make that possible without emissions. This way, we not only protect Brabants heritage but also set a good example in the energy transition: carefully handling the past and looking forward to a sustainable future.”

Role model in sustainability

Monumentenwacht North Brabant aims to electrify all 14 inspection vans in the coming years. This contributes to the energy transition and shows that sustainability and heritage care can go well together. Monumentenwacht also supports owners through the Sustainable Monuments Desk and with sustainability advice.

Sanne de Koning-Van Weert, director-manager of Stichting Monumentenwacht North Brabant: “Our inspection vans are our tools on wheels. Thanks to the provinces support, we can continue to reach where needed: in the middle of historic inner cities and at monuments throughout Brabant. We gladly take our role model function in sustainability visibly into the province.”

Recognizable in the province

To make it visible that the Province of North Brabant contributes, the vans have a recognizable design including the provincial logo and the skyline of recognizable buildings in Brabant.
