The Hague could use a bit more Brabant. That is the title of a Brabant-wide message that Commissioner of the King Ina Adema of the Province of North Brabant presented to members of the House of Representatives and Senate in The Hague.

Ally

The strength of Brabant lies in stacking solutions instead of problems, says Adema. She calls on The Hague for more and better cooperation. We want to be an ally, not a distant executor. And we want to be involved from the start. As an example of successful cooperation, the province mentions Brabant Builds and the Regional Deals, which Brabant would like to continue to deploy.

Tailored Approach

Furthermore, Brabant advocates for more regional customization and faster and consistent decision-making, for example regarding major challenges such as housing, energy, and the transition of rural areas. The province also calls for targeted investments in places and sectors where national interests converge, such as in the Brainport region and Powerport Moerdijk.

Title

The title of the Brabant Message is derived from a statement by Rob Jetten in the Debate of the South. The Brabant-wide message was prepared together with – and is supported by – the major Brabant cities (Breda, Eindhoven, Helmond, ’s-Hertogenbosch, Oss, Roosendaal, Tilburg), the Brabant water boards, and regional cooperation associations in West, Central, Southeast, and Northeast Brabant.
