Former swimmer Sharon van Rouwendaal was honored as an Honorary Citizen of Brabant by Kings Commissioner Ina Adema. This was in recognition of her exceptional sporting achievements and her inspiring significance for the Brabant society.
During a gathering in the presence of her family, Ina Adema praised the enormous dedication of the Olympic champion. “Sharon has won Olympic medals three times: gold in Rio, silver in Tokyo, and gold again in Paris. That is exceptional,” said the commissioner. “Behind that success lies more than talent: it is discipline, character, and the determination to bring out the very best in yourself.”
