On Wednesday, September 10, the scheme for non-productive investments - forest revitalization will reopen. The subsidy comes from the Common Agricultural Policy. Brabant forest owners, such as nature management organizations (TBOs) and estates, can apply for subsidies for forest revitalization to preserve and restore forests that have been affected by nitrogen from agriculture. The submission of subsidy applications is possible until November 11, 2025.
What has changed?
Two important changes have taken place since the previous opening. The Measures Map, which indicated where forest revitalization could take place, has been removed from the scheme. Subsidies can now be applied for forests on poor and richer sandy soils in North Brabant.
A soil survey is now mandatory with your subsidy application. This soil survey helps the applicant determine where and how much soil improvement is needed. And it helps us determine in what order we restore the forests: the more acidic the soil, the more important it is to take rapid restoration measures.
