What does the demonstrated increased risk of pneumonia mean for people living near a goat farm? And what does that mean for the future of housing and livability in Brabant? During an online webinar on Monday, January 12, Deputy Saskia Boelema spoke about the latest developments. She did so with Kees Stijne, strategist Agriculture, Health & Environment at the Province of North Brabant, and Maarten Everling, alderman in the municipality of Bernheze.
In May 2025, information was already shared about the VGO III study, which focused on the relationship between goat farms, health, and housing. At that time, it was also decided to temporarily maintain the goat moratorium (refers to another website), pending advice from the Health Council. That advice was published in December 2025. Therefore, January 12 was a good moment to look together at the outcomes and what they mean for Brabant.
Who was this webinar for?
Aldermen and municipal employees of Brabant municipalities involved in this topic. An invitation was also sent to the municipal secretariats and members of the Provincial Council.
