The province of North Holland will replace the asphalt on Amsterdamseweg (N202) from Monday, September 8 to Friday, September 12, between the on- and off-ramps of the A22 and the intersection at the traffic center Weide Blik of Rijkswaterstaat/Laaglandersluisweg in Velsen-Zuid.

To minimize traffic disruption, the work will only take place in the evening and night, between 8:00 PM and 5:00 AM. Amsterdamseweg will be closed in both directions for through traffic and public transport buses. Both intersections of the A22 will also be closed, making it impossible to drive from IJmuiden towards Beverwijk via the Velsertunnel. The bike path will remain open during the works.

Detours

The works will affect car traffic and the schedules of bus lines 382 and 74. It is advisable to account for extra travel time.
Car traffic will be diverted via the following routes:

  • From A’dam Westpoort towards Velsen: via A5 – A9 – A22 (Velsertunnel) – Rijksweg
  • From A9 towards Ruigoord/SnowWorld: via A5 – Sloterdijk – N202
  • From IJmuiden and Velsen towards Beverwijk and A’dam Westpoort: via N208 (Haarlem) – N200 – R105
  • From Alkmaar towards Ruigoord/SnowWorld: via A9 – A5 – N202

Buses

Bus line 382 (IJmuiden aan Zee/Amsterdam Sloterdijk) and 74 (Heemskerk/IJmuiden) have an adjusted schedule.
Line 382 will run on September 10 and 11 between 8:00 PM and 1:30 AM via a detour. This will result in the cancellation of stops between Laaglandersluisweg and Ocaangroep. A shuttle bus will run every quarter hour between stops Kaapstadweg and Westpoortweg.
On line 74, no stops will be canceled during the works. However, passengers should account for extra travel time as the bus follows the detour route.
