The N246 between Westknollendam and Markenbinnen will be closed in the evenings and nights from Wednesday, October 22 to Friday, October 24 for asphalt repairs.
To safely carry out the work and to minimize traffic disruption, work will be done in the evening and night between 8:00 PM and 5:00 AM. This means that some noise disturbance may occur. The province understands that this can be inconvenient, but hopes for your understanding. The closure and detour route only apply during the times mentioned above.
Accessibility and Detour Route
• The N246 will be closed between the Noorddijk in Westknollendam and the Markervaart in Markenbinnen.
• Emergency and rescue services, buses, and (moped) cyclists can still use the N246.
• For motorized traffic heading towards Zaanstad, there is a main detour route via the N244 – A9 – N8 and vice versa. This route will be indicated with signs. You can also use the A7. See the image below.
