The Province of North Holland will conduct additional measurements at Ouderkerk Bridge on the evening and night of June 19 to 20, 2025.
Due to the measurements, the northern bridge will be closed to traffic between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Motorized traffic will be directed via the southern bridge section. Cyclists, pedestrians, and public transport will not be hindered by the work.
Measurements on the evening and night of June 19 to 20
The measurements will take place on the bridge section towards Amstelveen from June 19 (10:00 PM) to June 20 (6:00 AM). Motorized traffic will be directed via the other bridge section with the help of traffic controllers. This allows for one lane in each direction and a maximum speed of 30 kilometers per hour. Cyclists and pedestrians can continue to use the bike and footpath.
Additional Measurements
Previous studies have shown that Ouderkerk Bridge causes extra noise when heavy traffic crosses the bridge. The noise occurs at the point where the bridge deck meets the fixed side and is particularly noticeable in the evenings and nights. To determine the exact cause and find a solution, measurements will be taken at the bridge deck. Previous measurements in May focused on the movement of the bridge deck relative to the fixed side. With the studies conducted on June 20, the contractor will gather information through 3-D measurements.
