The Province of North Holland is carrying out the final repair works on the Ouderkerk Bridge in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel.

From the weekend of March 14 to 16 and during the nights between March 17 and 19, the bridge on provincial road N522 between Amsterdam Southeast and Amstelveen will be closed to motorized traffic. Through traffic will be diverted via the A2 and A9 highways.

Weekend Closure from March 14 to 16

From Saturday, March 14 at 6:00 AM until Monday, March 16 at 6:00 AM, the Ouderkerk Bridge will be closed to motorized traffic. The contractor will perform welding work on the northern and southern parts of the bridge. Through traffic will be diverted via the A2 and A9. During the weekend closures, (electric) cyclists, pedestrians, public buses, disabled vehicles such as Canta cars and mobility scooters, and emergency services will still be able to use the Ouderkerk Bridge. For bus passengers, a shuttle bus will run between Amsterdam Arena station and the bus stops at Hoger Einde Noord in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel.

Night Closures from March 17 to 19

On the nights of March 17 to 18 and March 18 to 19, the Ouderkerk Bridge will be reconnected to the control center and tests will be conducted. This will take place between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM. The bridge deck will open and close several times. During these tests, no motorized traffic or bus traffic can cross the bridge. Through traffic will be diverted via the A2 and A9. (Electric) cyclists and pedestrians should expect possible delays if the bridge is open during testing. If the tests run late, the night of March 19 to 20 is also scheduled.

Work Completed Earlier on March 12 and 13

The previously announced welding work scheduled for the evenings and nights from February 25 to March 13 has been completed earlier. This means that no work will take place on the nights of March 11 to 12 and March 12 to 13. Traffic measures will then be lifted and traffic can use both parts of the bridge on those evenings and nights.
