At Pavilion Welgelegen in Haarlem, the exhibition Creative Generation in Focus will be on display starting May 20. Students from Practical School Focus in Dijk en Waard will showcase their artworks.
With this exhibition, the Province of North Holland kicks off a new period in which it continues the program Cultural Education with Quality to support cultural education in schools.
Jeroen Olthof, Deputy of Culture: “With the program Cultural Education with Quality, we connect children at a young age with art and culture and contribute to a creative generation. Everyone has the right to engage with art and culture, regardless of whether you live in a village or city and whether you receive it from home.”
Collaboration
The exhibition has been realized through the program Cultural Education with Quality in collaboration with Practical School Focus, artist Jaap Velserbroek who guided the students, and Plein C. Focus provides practical education to young people aged 12 to 18 with learning difficulties.
Wilbert Stuifbergen, practical education teacher at Focus: It is wonderful to see what happens when students get creative. Collaborating on this artwork provided a safe space to express emotions, push boundaries, and be proud of who you are and what you create together. This has a positive effect on their development. That experience stays with you, far beyond the walls of the school.
Plein C Opens an external link is the provincial partner for cultural education and participation and the lead organization of North Holland. Together with the Province of North Holland, municipalities, educational institutions, and cultural organizations, Plein C works towards a creative society.
