The province will make a higher amount available for nature development next year than in previous years. This is stated in the Nature Management Plan 2026, a plan that is established annually by the Provincial Executive.
Landowners and land managers can apply to the province for a subsidy for the development and management of nature within the Nature Network Netherlands. These subsidies are called Subsidy Regulation Quality Impulse Nature and Landscape Management (SKNL), Subsidy Pachtafkoop (SPA), and Agricultural Nature and Landscape Management (ANLb).
This year, the province has made more money available for completing the Nature Network Netherlands. Part of this amount goes to the increase of the SKNL and SPA subsidies, totaling € 19.5 million compared to € 8.3 million last year. The amount for ANLb will be announced later this autumn.
The Nature Management Plan 2026 was prepared in consultation with farmers, nature organizations, and individuals and was available for inspection from April 3 to May 14, 2025.
The plan and the accompanying maps describe the goals of (agricultural) nature management in North Holland that subsidy applicants must meet. It also describes how subsidy recipients must monitor, report, and evaluate.
