The Province of North Holland will conduct measurements at Ouderkerk Bridge on the evening and night of May 8 to 9.

Due to the measurements, the southern bridge will be closed to traffic between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Motorized traffic will be directed via the northern bridge section. (Moped) cyclists, pedestrians, and public transport will not experience any inconvenience from the work.

Previous studies have shown that Ouderkerk Bridge causes extra noise when heavy traffic crosses the bridge. The noise occurs at the point where the bridge deck meets the fixed side and is particularly noticeable in the evenings and nights. To determine the exact cause and find a solution, measurements will be taken at the bridge deck.

Measurements on the evening and night of May 8 to 9

The measurements will take place on the bridge section towards Amsterdam-Zuidoost from May 8 (10:00 PM) to May 9 (6:00 AM). Motorized traffic will be directed via the other bridge section with the help of traffic controllers. This will provide one lane available for both directions, with a maximum speed of 30 km per hour. (Moped) cyclists and pedestrians can continue to use the bike and footpath.

If it turns out that additional research is needed after the measurements, further measurements will also take place on the bridge section towards Amstelveen. This will be conducted on the evening and night of May 22 (10:00 PM) to May 23 (6:00 AM).
