Commissioner of the King Arthur van Dijk presented the Royal Warrant of Appointment to Doelen Coach Services on Friday, December 19, on behalf of the King.
“Doelen Coach Services has operated under various names and business structures, but the task has always been the same: renting cars and vehicles with chauffeurs. However, Doelen wants to be more than just transportation,” Van Dijk said in his speech. “The motto is ‘Stay ordinary, be special.’ This is reflected in reliability, precision, service, and professionalism.”
Van Dijk: “The pride in both the equipment and the employees, many of whom have been with the company for years, is evident in everything you do. Social involvement is a pillar of this company. From supporting the ice club Nut en Vermaak and the swimming group De Spetters, to contributing to Adamas Inloophuis and Hospice Bardo. During the COVID period, you demonstrated resilience. By acting quickly and temporarily deploying employees elsewhere, they got through this time. People were seconded to bakeries, gardeners, and even the GGD, which prevented layoffs. This is exceptional and a testament to responsibility and humanity.”
Royal Warrant of Appointment
The Royal Warrant of Appointment is intended for small and medium-sized enterprises that hold a leading position in their region and have existed for at least 100 years. According to the commissioner, a thorough investigation precedes the awarding of the distinction. Among others, the cabinet, the municipality, and various ministries gather information about the company. They check whether working conditions are in order and if no economic offenses have been committed. The process takes on average one year.
