On Monday, March 16, the Province of North Holland will start works on the N247. This is the first closure in a series of three closures in March, April, and May 2026.

From Monday, March 16 at 7:00 AM until Wednesday, April 1 at 4:00 PM, the N247 will be fully closed to traffic in both directions from the bridge near Oudendijk to the bridge near Beets. The province is carrying out repairs on these two bridges. Emergency services, buses, and cyclists can pass the work via the parallel road. Other traffic must follow a detour via the N244 and A7 or via the N509, N243, and N194, and vice versa. All addresses remain accessible.

During this closure, the asphalt at the Dorpsweg/N247 intersection near Oudendijk will also be replaced. This will be done in the evenings/nights of March 19 and 23. The parallel road will be inaccessible from the N247 between 8:00 PM and 5:00 AM. The regular bus service can pass, but the night bus will detour via the A7 on those nights.

Closures of N247 in April and May

  • From Sunday, April 12 at 8:00 PM until Monday, April 27 at 5:00 AM, the exit from the A10 towards the N247 up to the t Schouw intersection will be fully closed to car traffic in both directions. The province will replace the worn asphalt. The on- and off-ramps of city route S116 are also closed. Amsterdam-Noord is accessible from the A10 via S115, S117, and S118. Emergency services and buses can pass the work. Bike paths remain open. For road users who normally enter the N247 via the A10 and need to be north of the closure, a detour via A10 – A8 – A7 – N244 applies, and vice versa.
  • From Tuesday, April 28 at 5:00 AM until Monday, May 18 at 5:00 AM, the N247 between Broek in Waterland and the Bernhardlaan exit to Monnickendam will be closed to car traffic. The province is renewing the Bernhardlaan intersection and completing the last works on the Dijksbrug. Emergency services and buses can pass the work. For road users who need to be north of the closure, a detour via A10 – A8 – A7 – N244 applies. Cyclists have a local detour along the work.
  • On the evenings/nights of May 21 and 22, the Bernhardbrug will also be fully closed to traffic between 8:00 PM and 5:00 AM. The connection of the bridge to the N247 will be resurfaced, and the old bus stop will be removed. In case of bad weather, one additional night may be needed. Traffic can only reach Monnickendam from the N247 via Nieuwendam. This route has a restriction for vehicles heavier than 18 tons or longer than 10 meters.
