On Friday, August 22, technical research will be conducted on the floating bridge t Zand between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. On Tuesday, September 2, research will also take place at St. Maartensvlotbrug from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. For the safe execution of these inspections, the floating bridges will be closed to motorized traffic during these times.

Maintenance Preparation

To keep the floating bridges in t Zand and St. Maartensvlotbrug safe and accessible for road and water traffic, major maintenance is needed every 30 to 40 years. As preparation for the next major maintenance, the technical research agency Witteveen+Bos will conduct a comprehensive inspection, including an examination of the bridge chambers. Based on the findings, it will be determined what maintenance is needed in the coming years.
