The MuiderslotExpress is a new bus line that started as a trial in early June. The bus runs on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The province of North Holland finances the MuiderslotExpress.
A single trip costs € 1,- and children up to and including 11 years travel for free, accompanied by an adult. Passengers purchase their ticket with their debit card from the driver. Festive Opening
On Friday, June 13, the line was officially opened with mobility alderman Mark Marshall, deputy of the province of North Holland Jeroen Olthof, and regional director of Transdev Vincent Broekkamp.
Deputy Jeroen Olthof: “The province is working towards a new public transport network, in which local initiatives and flexible transport have an important place. This ensures that North Holland remains well accessible. Also our tourist destinations, such as the Muiderslot. With the MuiderslotExpress, we are taking another beautiful step in that direction.”
“With the MuiderslotExpress, we make it easier for visitors to reach Muiden without a car,” says alderman Mark Marshall. “This reduces congestion in the narrow streets and creates more space for residents and cyclists.”
“We would like to transport people in a comfortable and accessible way,” says Vincent Broekkamp, Regional Director of Transdev. This way we improve the accessibility of these special places, without extra traffic pressure.
Within 10 Minutes to History and Culture in Muiden
In 10 minutes, the bus takes visitors from Muiden P&R to the Muiderslot. The travel times of the line are coordinated with the departure times of the ferry to the fortress island Pampus. The bus can accommodate a maximum of 8 passengers per trip. The line also brings visitors back.
Evaluation of the Trial
After the trial period, an evaluation will take place in the autumn of 2025 to determine whether the service will continue.
