The theme of Pride Amsterdam this year is #LOVE, and under that motto, the Province of North Holland will sail with the boat CHEER FOR LOVE. This year, the boat is intended for residents of North Holland from the LGBTQIA+ community. The province calls on residents to nominate someone they want to encourage to be themselves. Someone who deserves to receive only love for a day. Nominators then have a chance to sail with their nominee on the province boat.

For Pride Amsterdam 2025, the theme LOVE is central, not only as a symbol of romance but also as a foundation for connection, understanding, and solidarity. Love captivates, binds, supports, and overcomes. LOVE is versatile and represents, among other things, the attraction between people, the support that people can give each other, and the struggle for equal rights that is fought together.
Your Story
Especially in times of polarization in our society, love is the best counter-sound. Ultimately, everyone needs love around them. Therefore, we must pay attention to those who give us love, support, and motivate us. Do you have a personal cheerleader who perhaps sends you messages, is always there for you, or helps others? Or someone you want to encourage to show themselves by sailing in the boat parade? Tell why this person means so much to you, and maybe you will be on the boat together.
Rainbow Province
North Holland is a rainbow province and finds it important that every resident can be themselves. The province has a large diversity of residents with unique stories and is very proud of that. By participating in the Canal Parade of Pride Amsterdam, the province aims to improve the visibility and acceptance of people from the LGBTQIA+ community.
