In September and October, extensive work will be carried out on and around the N247. This will take place at and around the intersection t Schouw (N247/N235) and between the Bernhardbrug Monnickendam and just before the intersection with N244/Zuiderzeeweg.

To carry out the work safely, the road will be fully closed at various times and locations in September and October. The detour for road traffic will be via the A10, A8, A7, and N244. 

What is happening and when? 

  • From Sunday, September 14, 20:00 to Monday, September 22, 5:00, the intersection t Schouw and part of the N235 will be closed to traffic. The province is replacing worn asphalt. The following closures apply: the intersection t Schouw (N247/N235) between Slochterweg and Termieterweg to beyond bus stop Splitsing. The N235 to beyond bus stop Watergang, De Dollard, and the connection of the Kanaaldijk to the N235 will also be closed. Emergency and rescue services, line buses, and (moped) bicycles can pass the work. Local traffic and destination traffic will follow alternative routes or receive exemptions. 

  • From September 26, 20:00 to October 27, 5:00, the N247 will be closed to road traffic from the Bernhardbrug Monnickendam to just below the intersection with N244/Zuiderzeeweg. The province is carrying out major maintenance, adjusting intersections, and providing a physical separation between the bus lane and the traffic lanes between Monnickendam and Zeddeweg. Emergency and rescue services, line buses, and (moped) bicycles can pass the work.  

Open House Meeting

On September 11, the province will hold an open house meeting from 17:00 to 20:00 at Hotel Van der Valk, Wagenweg 1 in Katwoude. Do you have questions? Staff from the province and the contractor will be happy to assist you.  

More information and detour maps

In the coming years, more work is planned on and around the N247. Think of renovation, major maintenance, and other improvements. This work will be done by municipalities, the province, and other organizations such as the Alliantie Markermeerdijken. They will coordinate the work as much as possible.
