The Province of North Holland is repairing the damaged concrete of the Langebalk Bridge in Heerhugowaard.
The underlying Westerweg (N242) is therefore closed to car traffic in both directions from Monday, October 27 to Thursday, October 30 between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Cyclists can still use the bike path. Car traffic follows a detour route.
Detour
During the works, the Westerweg (N242) is closed in both directions between Pannekeetweg and Schoutenbosweg in Heerhugowaard. Car traffic follows a detour via Pannekeetweg, Hasselaarsweg, Middenweg, and Verlaat towards A.C. de Graafweg (N241) and vice versa.
Works
The contractor is carrying out repairs because the concrete of the Langebalk Bridge is damaged. There are small (hairline) cracks in the concrete. The repairs are necessary to prevent moisture from expanding during frost and causing further cracking.
