Special TV at work in the province of Overijssel

From filming to editing and from presenting to reporting: the Specials do everything themselves. With this collaboration, the province of Overijssel and Special TV want to show that inclusion and social quality should not only be found in policy documents but also need to be brought together in practice.

Policy under scrutiny

In their reports, the Specials address various themes such as volunteer work, social initiatives, and positive health. They investigate whether the province sufficiently contributes to a social, equal, and inclusive society.

Deputy Tijs de Bree emphasizes the importance of this collaboration:
“We make our plans partly for this target group, so it is incredibly valuable that they can observe, think along, and discuss from their own perspective. At the same time, this should not be special at all – it is logical that colleagues with a disability work in the middle of our organization. This collaboration helps us to make that increasingly natural.”
