Urgent appeal: avoid the forest
Until then, we urgently call on everyone with children not to visit the Den Treek area and Austerlitz forestry. For those who are in the vicinity, we strongly emphasize: be vigilant and pay close attention!
Advice
- Always stay on the paths in the forest. A map of the exact area will follow.
- It is not permitted to be in the forests between sunset and sunrise.
- Keep your dog on a leash, even in off-leash areas.
- Preferably enter the forests of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug in groups.
- Be extra alert if you go running, horseback riding, or mountain biking in the forest; these activities can awaken the wolf's pursuit instinct.
- As an event organizer, take appropriate measures to prevent confrontations between wolves and visitors/participants.
