Mayor Lucas Bolsius of the municipality of Amersfoort has informed the Commissioner of the King Hans Oosters that he is currently unable to perform his duties as mayor due to recovery from pneumonia.
During the summer recess, Mayor Bolsius of Amersfoort suffered a severe pneumonia. In recent weeks, it has become clear that a full recovery is not in sight. The deputy mayors have increasingly taken over his duties.
Mayor Bolsius has informed the Commissioner of the King that he will focus entirely on treatment and recovery until at least the Christmas recess.
The Commissioner of the King will shortly engage in discussions with the group leaders from the municipal council of Amersfoort about the steps to be taken.
