Mayor Danny de Vries of the municipality of Oudewater has informed the Kings Commissioner Hans Oosters that he is stepping down as mayor. He will become director of RTV Oost.
The commissioner congratulates Danny de Vries on his new job, calling his departure a loss for Oudewater and the province of Utrecht. Danny has given his own twist to the mayoral office and made Oudewater even more visible. He will be greatly missed, says Hans Oosters.
Danny de Vries became mayor of Oudewater on November 16, 2020. De Vries is a communication expert and was previously director of Albers De Vries. Before that, he was active for many years as a journalist for radio, television, and newspapers.
The Kings Commissioner will speak with the faction leaders of the municipal council of Oudewater about the next steps.
