Kings Commissioner Hans Oosters administered the oath of office to Mayor Rob Metz on Thursday evening, November 27, during an extraordinary council meeting. Metz begins his third term in Soest.
“Rob Metz has a lot of experience, both politically and administratively. The political game suits him well. But he also likes to engage directly with the people of Soest to hear what is on their minds,” said Oosters.
Rob Metz (67) has been mayor of Soest since November 28, 2013. A mayor may serve until their seventieth birthday. For this reason, Metz will not complete his third six-year term. He has indicated that he expects to remain mayor until about summer 2027. He wishes to oversee the period around the municipal elections in March 2026 once more in his role as mayor.
