On Wednesday evening, November 26, during an extraordinary council meeting, Commissioner of the King Hans Oosters swore in Rosan Kocken as mayor of the municipality of De Ronde Venen. He did this by administering the oath of office. 

In his speech, the commissioner told Kocken that the mayoralty is a special and beautiful office. “You are a person who is involved, approachable, and senses what society needs. 

Rosan Kocken (46) has been a deputy in the province of North Holland since 2022. From 2015 to 2022, she was a member of the Provincial Council of North Holland, serving as faction leader since 2019. From 2013 to 2022, she worked as a criminal lawyer. Kocken grew up in Heerhugowaard and studied Dutch Law at the Free University Amsterdam. She is married and has two children.
