Commissioner of the King Hans Oosters took the oath of office from commissioner Jeroen Haan of the Water Board De Stichtse Rijnlanden on Monday evening, September 1, during an extraordinary meeting of the general board.
In his speech, the commissioner described Jeroen Haan as “always ready, always thinking along, always enthusiastic.” A dijkgraaf is the chair of the general and daily board of the water board. The position is comparable to that of a mayor in a municipality.
Jeroen Haan (54) is married, has two children, and has been dijkgraaf of the water board since 2019. Previously, he was the dijkgraaf of the Water Board of Rijnland and earlier group leader for the PvdA in that same water board.
