On Thursday, October 9, there will be an information evening about the sound situation on the N226. During this evening, the results of the additional research and the next steps will be explained. The Province of Utrecht, municipality of Utrechtse Heuvelrug, and ProRail are working together for better traffic flow, traffic safety, and a more livable Maarsbergen. Two railway underpasses and three bicycle bridges will be constructed for this purpose.
Additional research has been conducted into what the traffic on the Woudenbergseweg (N226) means for the sound situation. It turns out that additional soundproofing measures, such as sound barriers or quieter asphalt, are not necessary and also not effective. However, a list has been drawn up of houses that may qualify for additional measures due to traffic noise on the N226. The residents of these houses have received a letter about this.
