The Province of Utrecht, 20 municipalities, and involved residents were informed on November 3 about the bankruptcy application of Winst uit je woning: Samen inkopen B.V. This news is unexpected for all of us, especially considering the important role this organization has played in recent years supporting residents in making their homes more sustainable.
Within the MCO program, we collaborate with 20 Utrecht municipalities on the insulation challenge for private owner-occupied homes. For this major sustainability task, we conducted a European tender, and in May 2024, Winst uit je woning was chosen as our cooperation partner.
Winst uit je woning carried out collective insulation actions on assignment. The bankruptcy affects residents and involved parties connected to Winst uit je woning.
No impact on homeowners
At this moment, we cannot yet make statements about the impact of the bankruptcy. It is known that it does not affect the funds available to homeowners. The program continues until 2028. As soon as there is more clarity, everyone will be informed.
The Province of Utrecht is investigating together with involved municipalities and the trustee what the consequences are for ongoing projects, agreements, and payments.
Our first priorities are that:
- Residents are not financially disadvantaged;
- Ongoing sustainability measures can continue as much as possible.
Working together to find solutions
We are unpleasantly surprised by this development and will continue to work with municipalities on solutions to maintain the collective approach to making Utrecht homes more sustainable.
