The province of Utrecht will carry out works on the Driebergsestraatweg/Hoofdstraat (N225) between Driebergen and Doorn from Monday, October 13 to Saturday, October 25. The road will be closed, and traffic will be diverted.

The work is being carried out by Roelofs on behalf of the province of Utrecht. The asphalt of the N225 needs to be replaced in several places. During the closure, the asphalt will be renewed so that the road can last for years. Additionally, a raised lane separation will be installed in some places, and the shoulder pavement will be replaced. The speed limit will be reduced to 60 kilometers per hour.

Planning

The N225 is an important road, which is why work will continue day and night to keep the execution period as short as possible. The works are divided into three areas:

  • Area 1 – Boundary at Driebergen to Boswijklaan
From Monday, October 13, 06:00 to Saturday, October 18, 23:59
  • Area 2 – Boswijklaan to Velperengh
From Monday, October 13, 06:00 to Saturday, October 25, 23:59
  • Area 3 – Velperengh to the boundary at Doorn
From Monday, October 20, 06:00 to Saturday, October 25, 23:59

Traffic disruption and diversions

To safely carry out the work, areas 1 and 3 will be completely closed. In area 2, local work will be carried out, and the road does not need to be closed. Through traffic between Driebergen and Doorn will be diverted via the A12 and N227.

Cyclists can continue to use the bike path between Driebergen and Doorn during the work. The bike path is also used by residents and emergency services, so we ask all road users to drive calmly and be mindful of bike traffic. In emergencies, emergency services will use the bike path.

Public transport

During the work, no buses will run on the N225 between Driebergen and Doorn. Public transport will follow a diversion. We advise travelers to plan their journey in advance via 9292.nl external link.

Unforeseen circumstances

In all road works, unforeseen circumstances may arise that could delay the work to a later time, for example, in case of prolonged rain. Paving is then not advisable. If the planning changes, we will announce this on the province of Utrechts website and in the BouwApp external link. In the BouwApp, you can also find more information about the work and ask questions.
