On Friday, August 29, 2025, Deputy Harry van der Maas symbolically handed over an amount of 50,000 euros to the project Care in the countryside in St. Philipsland. The subsidy comes from the Zeeland in Stroomversnelling: Human Capital Agenda scheme. Organizations can apply for subsidies under this scheme for smart ideas to tackle the tight labor market.
About the project
In the project that received the check, four general practitioner practices and home care organization Schutse work together on the island of Tholen. The four general practitioners together hire one nursing specialist. This specialist is trained to take over tasks from the general practitioners and ensure good cooperation with home care. This way, care in the countryside remains well organized, even when there are fewer general practitioners.
New subsidy round
From October 24, 2025, to March 20, 2026, subsidies can again be applied for projects that contribute to reducing the tightness in the Zeeland labor market.
